is there anyway to get my DM to auto load channelists from VIRGIN (NTL) ?

Not sure what you mean. That is how all boxes work!

They have to SCAN for their first transponder. (After all they are not magic, they cannot automatically know what frequency/symbol rate to use).

Once they have found one transponder they use the PAT/PMT (information stored in the stream) to find all the other transponders and build up a channel list.

You need to flash he box with a image. found under dreambox threads. second one down. if not installed then put nagrarom update on it eighth one down. good luck

I don't think that was what they meant. I think this is in reference to the current problem people are having with channels moving around.

yes i did mean with reference to the channels moving around, is there anyway to get your DM to auto update the new channels, using NTL own channel list or something, Thx

As I tried to say earlier. The dreamboxes already work that way. They get their channel lists from the stream.

The problem is that VirginMedia is a closed network and so they do not need follow the DVB specification 100% which is why we get duplicate channels, missing channels, Audio channels etc.

The enigma base code is already patched to support VM and probably could do with patching again.
