cant be arsed with all that mate would be happy just to bin it and go back to just a freeview box and have FTA after all the s**t its give me and the wife and kids that's my new hobby out the window I think

I am not 100% sure on this BUT...

You may be able to remove the Cable Tuner & put a Satellite one in it's place.

The only problem will be the back plate won't fit properly.

I am quite sure this could work though.

It worked for me on a DM800HD box.

I had by mistake ordered a cable box, so bought a new Sat tuner & inserted into box.

Worked fine, just had to leave the back plate off.

this is a ball ache cos the tuners are soldered in and not plug and play type tuner also you need to have a little circuit board for the satellite system which the 500c does not have
edit also it will want jtagging after you installed the satellite tuner
