Recording on DM800HD SE

Hi

I have setup recording on my DM800HD SE.
I observed that when recording start, I cannot view other channels.
All the other channels are greyed off.
And I can only see the channel that I record.

Is this normal?

What I want is that while I watch Channel 401, I want to record Channel 601 at the same time.

Is this possible?

It is not possible with an 800 because it only has one tuner. Not all channels are grayed out, there will be 3 or 4 other channels you can watch, these are the channels on the same transponder that you are recording from.

In order to watch a channel that is not on the same transponder you need a box with more than one tuner.
