DM 500C Stuck on red light standby mode

Hi guys, I am having this problem dunno whether it works if I reflash it as I do not have null modem cable yet. My DM 500C stucked with the red light (standby mode). I wonder if dreamup can detect it I would like to buy a null cable and try reflash it. Appreciate kind soul can advice is the box is spoil or can be reflash?

I encountered that problem very often on 1 of my box which has hardware problem (i think) which causes the software to die. Just use dreamup with the null cable to reimage again and it good to go.

Hi Seng55.
I had a similiar problem with my new DM800 HD PVR (clone) which stuck at the boot loader (red led flickering and TV screen is blank) since 2 weeks ago.
I have been reading the forums and as per your advise, should be able to get it working by flashing a image.
(Unable to contact supplier as my friend brought it thru a mutual friend in China).
But as the seniors here had mentioned, we should always perform a back-up the key and scce before flashing a new image.

Unfortunately, for my case, I am not sure whether is there any key and scce file in my db (as I had not been able to watch it since the day I got it).
I would like to ask whether did you transfer any key and scce back to your box when you reflash your db?
