Help Help.I feel for it and re-scaned? Now how do i view them

Hi i wonder if you can help,i got a dream box for my parents from a friend ,any time there was a problem ,like loosing channels my friend would fix it,so instesd of constantly pestering him my parents some how have managed to do a re-scan,??how they new how to do this i dont know,,,anyway its been done and they have told me on the phone that they have got x amount of channels,but cant view them,Is this box like the Digivox as i know how to wipe it clean and do a new auto scan and then reset the emulator,it sounds to me this might be the same sort of procedure that needs to be done with there Dream Box ,if so could you help me by a simple example how to view the channels again,

i dont claim to be an expert here m8 so if it dont work pls dont shout me down i did my first 1 today. go to sky sports 1 hold down the info button for 3 seconds then press ok for the evocam to start sit back and wait for it to open. hope it works for you

IVE TRIED IT ,NOTHING SEAMS TO WORK STRAIGHT AWAY SO I WILL LET IT SIT THERE FOR A WEE WHILE .THANKS ANYWAY SO I WILL GET BACK TO YOU

as long as the box was working and had all the correct working bits in it ,a new scan wouldnt stop them working only if they have done a factory reset will this happen ,do they have any fta channles at all ? like bbc1 or itv?and as wilf says you have to wait for the cam to start working

yes iam getting bbc and itv ,ive tried to do what wilf has said but there is still nothing happening, how long does it take for the cam to switch on ???

Hi New to this also. I have the same problem with not being able to get other channels, i can bbc,itv etc but when it comes to sky it comes up on the lcd and epg but no picture please help. Thanks

sorry i cant help i haVE WENT TO ADVANCED SETUP AND TO THE PLUGINS, IT TELLS ME THAT EVO CAM IS ACTIVE BUT THE OTHER CAM IS BEEING STARTED ,still waiting THATS BEEN DAYS NOW IT LOOKS LIKE I HAVE TO TRY AND FIND THE SOLUTION ELSE WHARE

you seem annoyed at the lack of replys to your prob m8 but i think its already been answered by father ted

only if they have done a factory reset will this happen

it seems the reason you cannot see any channels exept fta it seems as if they done a factory reset prior to rescan and removed the magic files. they need putting back on simple as m8

nothing is ever easy when it comes to dreamboxes. Why don't try the first sticky in RED and see how get on?

ive gave up the ghost,ive taken it to a guy who knows about these things better than me,i have tried all the posts that yous kind people have sent me ,but it does not seem to work on this box.i will let you know how i get on and if possible i will post what he has done to get it working.

it'll be something daft - it always is.

the tricky bit is installing the CAM properly (location, permissions), making sure the correct files are in place (keylist, folder, etc) and then making sure the CAM starts.

if u get FTA channels, there's no reason why it shouldn't work 100%

I always download the cam through the download menu rather worry about copying each of the files to their correct folders and permissions.
