    DM500 Flash dm500c

    Dear all,
    I just bought a dm500c, and is a new user to it.
    I wish to connect the box via telnet/ftp, to update the channel list to the newer one, but found that the box I bought was locked with passwords to telnet/ftp. The username and password has been changed because I can't login with root:dreambox.
    I read up on how to re-flash the box, so that I can reset all passwords and to connect to the box
    It seems that there are 2 ways to flash dm500c, by dreamup and telnet
    I wish to flash it by using telnet, because I don't have the null cable to flash by dreamup.
    I have the 4-digit setup pin, and I can access to the setup of the box, tried to download tux commander but failed.
    I decided to do a factory reset from the box and then access by telnet.
    Anyone can explain to me how to do it?
    Do I need to install any programs to telnet?

      The only way is to reflash via dreamup. You wun be able to edit or reset the ftp pasword even if you have the setup pin.

          I understand that once I reflash via dreamup, I will lose the keys and scce. How do I backup my keys and scce when I am unable to FTP from my dm500c? Anyone can help?

              Can any senior advise where can I download the chinese EPG support image for DM500C? Thanks!
