Unable To Flash DM800HD PVR Using Web Browser Method
Pardon me if this may sound a very newbie question to you. But I have scrolled through this forum and google but unable to get a solution. Currently using a working box and am able to update latest channel list with downloaded bouquet using LAN cable to router. i have wanted to flash a new firmware that can display Chinese title. I have followed the flash firmware using web browser method to be able to get to the DM800 web browser screen on my PC to flash new firmware. I selected the *.nfi file on my PC, but when I click flash nothing happens after 20 mins. I'm using WIN 7. Appreciate if anyone one can help. I have been trying for the past 3 weeks and am tearing my hair out.

Please note that you cannot miss any steps
Connect your box to your router
Press the button at the front panel
Hold it and power on
Then wait for the ''stop'' and then release the button
The IP address will appear shortly
Now go to browser and key in the IP
The flashing page will appear
Click firmware upgrade
Choose the nfi file
click flash

yes, doesnt matter what version of windows you using.
You should try wait longer if not, try another pc or laptop.
I do face this problem when I try to flash my friend box at his place. SO i brought it back home and reflash. No issues

Simple.
Do this:
1) Avoid using Internet Explorer. Use Firefox or Chrome instead.
2) Switch off your Dreambox DM800
3) Connect the network cable to the DM800
4) Press and HOLD the front panel switch (DO NOT RELEASE)
5) Switch ON the power of Dreambox DM800.
6) When the LCD shown "** STOP **" then release the front panel switch.
7) Look at the IP ADDRESS on the LCD front panel.
8) Open Firefox or Chrome browser, enter the IP Address in the URL bar and Enter.
9) At the bottom of the DM800 Web console, you will see a link Firmware Upgrade, click and browse to the location of the NFI file.
10) Click Flash, and few second later, checked the reboot check-box.Comment

If we pre-assigned an IP address of the DM box via MAC address in the router admin page, would this fixed IP work for flashing new image?Comment

If your router hardcoded the box mac-addresses, the DHCP will of course returned the pre-defined IP Address, it won't jump, make life easier for you.
Just do as per norm.
FYI, if your router support the NetBEUI and advanced DNS, your box may even register its hostname to the DNS.
ie. ftp to just dm800se instead of numeric IP Address.

I have exactly the same problem, I have been mentally suffering for three days and tried every trick in the book.
- I tried different browsers including Fireforx, Chrome, Opera, Explorer
- I tried different versions of Images.
- I tried longer waiting periods including going to bed and return the following morning to find nothing has changed
- I tried Dream-up and that did work either.
- I have been reading about the problem and watching videos to check if I was doing the right thing, but everyone is making it sound so simple when I find it really frusterating,
Where is the problem then ? is it hardware or software ?
My next solution is the rubbish bin,Comment
