Hello!! Newbie here needing help to update hdc 888-e firmware

Hello,

I just bought a tnhd hdc 888-e and so far it works great! But am not able to watch BPL. I was looking through the forum and the general suggestion is to upgrade the software. I was advised that the latest 05-08-2013 firmware works for the white tnhd hdc-888e as well. So I downloaded the firmware and put into the USB drive as instructed and tried to update software. However, the system just reboots and nothing happens... The software is still the same version. What did I miss or did wrongly?!?! Please help!!

Thanks for replies so far! I am unable to do a manual search with input of 0.5MHz. My thumb drive is already formatted to fat32 format.
My box system info is as follows:

Name: HDC-888
Model: HD-FTA-AVS+DVB-C
SW Version: HDC-888 V2.0 TNDT
HW Version: HDC-888 V2.1

SW VersionTime: 2013-04-07

davidwong.. when you enter 135000 or 135500 on SR 6090.. wait for quality bar to show something before you scan.. should work.. just got mine up.. =)

There are other ways for updating box
For my box, place usb, Off the box, Press the OK button in front
Keep holding the OK button and then power on
You will see BOOT, then when it display LOAD, just release the OK button and it will update
Not sure if it works for your box

Why dont you check back with your seller. You should get support from them is faster

I have the same problem (TNHD HDC-888-e), downloaded the latest firmware from the link 05082013-White-FYHD-MHD-usb_upgrade_app.bin, place it in a new USB thumbdrive formated in FAT32. Plug in the box's USB drive. Went to systems - software update and choose update from USB. The box rebooted but nothing happen. The version number show same as David Wong one.

I did a factory reset and try again, still no luck.

Pls read Fy site posting that that not all chn but most, so if you cant get all chn, pls accept it limitation. It no use trying to boost yr Toyota to speed as fast as a Ferarri.

Only those who hv disassem and assem software, can manually edit the bouquet chn by chn, the assembly SW alone is USD145/- and yet u must know C+ at least.

Afterall, DreamBox multimedia clones and FY boxes are TOYs, not professional equipment. We cant expect too much from it.

Only the models after September2012 can rcvd, earlier than this date, pls dont waste to much time post asking for patch, there is no patch to update bcos it has reached it limit.

So if your box is before Sept2012, NEED NOT ASK, no total way avlb.

Chk FW date by going to it Box info or property, you may buy an old box even it after sept2012.
