Thanks! Somehow still not working for me. I realised I do not have anything in the SCCE folder. Is that normal? I flashed to the suggested OpenPli-Turko v01 DM500 CCcam 3.2013 and transferred the keys but could only received FTA channels so I flashed back my backup copy. So I am back to square 1.

If your backup copy can watch all channels, there is no need for u to flash. You simply just need to ftp the bouquet over and you are set.

Guys with DM 500C.. Final check list. (Speaking with experience from PLI jade image). If you are able to watch all channels now on your box, that means you DO NOT need to flash, just need to ftp the bouquet over

1) You need to install VLC
2) Your box need to be connected to router AND be able to see the interface on a web browser (firefox preffered)
3) FTP over the bouquet using dbEdit from bro ypvs125 on page one of this thread
4) Two ways to watch,

a) On FF, open to the interface 192.168.1.xxx and click on web-x-tv, will popup a window with a player
b) start VLC, click open network stream, network tab, enter http://192.168.1.xxx:31344

5) DM500C only able to watch via stream to PC, if laggy, then get on Gigabit lan

In the unlikely event that after doing all these, you still cant stream anything, there is probability of needing to do port forwarding for the port 31344. I highly doubt that, but it's worth a try to troubleshoot.

Im no expert, just speaking from experience after doing step by step going through steps ppl pointed out. If you do not know how to ftp over the bouquet, this link is very clear:

Did that. Have all the channels but only FTA is ok. The rest are just blank. Realised my backup image's scce folder is empty but it works (I can see all channels but only audio from the BeeeePeeeL). Is it normal to have an empty /var/scce folder?

U just need the keys to open up the encrypted channels. If u don't have rom files in the scce folder, yr set might not autoroll if the provider changes the key. If u flashed other than sg preconfigured image chances are u need to set it up from scratch so even after u transfer the keys and bouquets, u will see an fta channels only.

Cheers to the previous posters. Got it working on my 500c. For the channels 102/103, the BER is very high, and the quality is unwatchable. Pixelation, buffering etc. But for the rest of the HD channels, no such problem. Any thoughts on why this is so?

Totally noob here. How do i connect my dream to my router? there is Tel Link & Rs 232. I have no idea what Rs 232. I have to get a Rs 232 wire to usb. So i can connect to my router?

After connect, i just move the e1 bouquet + beeepl to the dream? And watch through VLC through laptop?

Is this correct?

you connect the box to your router by using a lan cable. after that you go to your router home page to see the ip address of the box. after that you can use the dreambox edit to transfer the bouquet.
