Problem with flashing DM800hd via web browser

Hi masters,
i was able to flash a few boxes, but there was one particular box which I could not flash.
using below steps :
1) Avoid using Internet Explorer. Use Firefox or Chrome instead.
2) Switch off your Dreambox DM800
3) Connect the network cable to the DM800
4) Press and HOLD the front panel switch (DO NOT RELEASE)
5) Switch ON the power of Dreambox DM800.
6) When the LCD shown "** STOP **" then release the front panel switch.
7) Look at the IP ADDRESS on the LCD front panel.


at this point, the box will reboot the moment I let go of the front panel switch and started booting up. I am thus not able to continue with y flashing.
anyone experience this before?

Its a very rare problem.
I personally have not encounter nor hear any members feedback about this issue in the forum. I recall one member says he is able to go to flash page but there is no activity going on when click flash.

Nevertheless, web browser is only one method. For these kind of rare incidences, I think you next alternative would be using dreamup and null modem cable to flash.
Use dreamup 1.3.3.7 to flash 800HD.

Please confirm that you are using a clone dreambox 800HD.
With so many OEM clone of the clones, sometimes you think all 800HD are the same. Actually there may be a slight different in firmware etc.

Use dreamup patched. Connect null cable + lan cable to yr box. Open dreamup and tick use network>Click connect>Power on yr dreambox and wait for the uploader to complete. Once completed, look at yr front lcd for the ip add. Type the ip add just like normally u use for web browser flashing. If using dreamup alone will take about an hour.

Thanks guys. Yeah I guess it's button issue. Tried numerous times by pressing softly, different angle etc then manage to stop the reboot. Yup using dm800hdpvr. Thanks for the advice! Getting prepared for the rs232 cable method just in case =)
