Internal Sata Hdd In DM800HD PVR query

Hi guys, just checking if any one facing difficulties with internal sata hdd with the latest SG Open Pli 2.1-dm800-SSL-84b.nfi image?
I understand hdd should be in fat32, but limited to 4gb per recording file.
I bought a brand new 500gb sata hdd, do I need to format first before installing into the box? If formating is needed, is fat32 the best?
    Thks in advance..

Format it to ext3 if it is internal hdd or in the image itself initialize it. Don't forget to create movie folder on the hdd.

You need to format this 500gb internal hard disk as ext3 as this is the native format for a Linux operating system, which all these firmwares are compiled on.

Furthermore if the hard disk is ext3 you will not have the 4gb limit that a fat32 will restrict on a file size. E.g if you wanted to record a HD channel for day more than 4 hour, you'll definitely bust this 4gb file size limit.

Be sure that this 500gb hard disk had nothing on it that is valuable to you. Once you format the disk all will be erased.

      Cheers
