missing channels

ok...

i have asked this question already without much joy. I have no E4, Film 4, Arsenal tv, liverpool tv, more 4....

I am using an amplifier (yellow brick)...
I have re-flashed and re scanned...
the channels are not even listed, i.e. no weird named channels, or nothing that says service removed...
I never used bouquets..so there is no trace of these channels.


I am in east london.
does anyone out there know how to rectify this, using the information I have given you already...

i know others are having this problem, as there must be more of you in east london with a dreambox!

im using evocam 2.12? i think.
I never had any trouble untill about two weeks ago, have always had these channels for years. Someone on here reckons virgin have moved transponders or something. How do i find out what transponder? and how do i scan for it?

I have been playing around with the cables.xml file, and have noticed since using a modified one - many of my borderline signals are now at 95%+

Basically - rename your existing cables.xml file (located in var\etc) and copy the modified file into the directory to replace it.

Reboot the box, and scan.

Pure coincidence. All that is in that file is a list of potential transponders (and settings) to try when performing an Automatic scan.

It cannot help improve SNR on borderline channels.

alex. i dont think its a coincidence. I did what he said, ftpd the new xml file, and it worked. i have my channels back again.

But your problem wasn't a low SNR (signal to noise ratio) yours was a missing transponder.
