As far as I know, no, there isn't. But, why would you want to when connecting over the network via FTP to the box is a crossover cable and 10 seconds of configuration away? Hell, with a lot of modern network cards that support MDIX there isn't even any need for a crossover cable.

Thanks man but if you saw the state of my computer room you'd understand why I'd rather just go usm to serial than attempt to reach the router with a 20 mtr length of patch cable

Guess I don't quite understand how going Dreambox---serial--->PC is any less hassle than Dreambox---ethernet--->PC but as you say, I haven't inspected your computer room. I presume you have some elegant solution for the serial connection that doesn't require a 20M long cable?

Quite mate! Usb to serial about 12 inches from me ethernet at rear (I get on my knees for no one unless I'm kneeling behind a girl!!!) Router behind mass of cables, games, modem, usb drives etc. 2 ethernet cables 20 mtrs long on floor tangled round each other not sure which ends which LOL then I'd still have to configure the router firewall and the dreambox LOL

I'll look for a proggy I'm sure there4 was one where you could browse another PC via the serial conection!!! HMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Heh, sounds like quite the rats nest you're got there. Begging for a picture. Hope the USB to ethernet adaptor works out for ya! I assume your desktop/laptop's existing ethernet adaptor is hogged by the client end of one of those fabulous 20M long cables then, eh?
