It's been a while, but I've had my Dreambox 500c (Clone) for about 15months yrs now......its been running pretty much fine in itself, running I beleive either the DW2.1 or 2.0 image (whatever was latest at the time of buying it).
The only thing I never really got working properly was streaming through the network to the PC.
I did get it working in a fashion (using the player from within http://192.168.1.100/webxtv?browser=MSIE and the firefox equivalent)......but certain channels would never give any audio...I believe some of them may have been ITV and C4, certainly some of the primary channels. On searching at the time it seemed to be a common unsolvable problem due to them channels having multiple audio streams or something like that(audio description maybe?) and unable to load because of it.
Now I've been building an HTPC recently, and was considering getting an internal dvb-c card, however on searching I've found mention of people using their dreambox through the HTPC.
Could I ask - has this issue since been resolved and people are now able to stream successfully all channels? If so, is it a case of there being a new image (I'm just searching for new images to supercede DW2.1 now but most results seem to be for dbox rather than dreambox) or a new perfect VLC and DW combo???
I hope theres a way to get this working as save me buying the pci card ontop of the hassle getting that working too.
