500s satellite advice please

hi i hope someone can give me a bit of advice either in forum or message me please ,i have a 500c and have done images, kaos image for myself on my box but my friend has asked me bout a satellite image as he has sxx and i just wasnt sure whether it was same image and also whether it was as easy to do ,he was looking to getting the linux blackbox 500s but it would be down to me to be his tech support so any advice would be good

I would go for the Nabilo image in downloads it's pretty much all there and if you can set it up to a router or spare modem port so much the better, it pretty much a button press for downloads then. Fixed dish you want to select one single sat on setup if he's using his sky dish then select 28 east in this menu and save, then you will be in pretty familiar scanning territory after that. As for cams I use CCcam google it and you'll find a download but as I said if connected to the net you can do it directly, any more info required just post and I'll scratch my head and try and help you

many thanks ,so i just flash image as usual using dream up as i do with my 500c ? then connect 500s to his router and do updates that way ? ill get him to order the black box then i just didnt want him to get it if it was gonna be hard work as he is not a tech head and set up and tech support is down to me ,but wanna help a mate out ill try do find the cam you said about too , also how do i put that on box ?

You can download and install CCcam from the Nabilosat image server.

99% of images are made for satellite
so when image is flashed, then on first boot
it recognises what tuner you have in the box

just one more question will he get all the channels that he already gets and ppv
