DM800se OpenPli 4.0 Beta Image for Sim2.1 Clones
Being a "forever curious" type and wanting to try out something new, I have just downloaded this OpenPLi-4.0-beta-dm800se #ssl84b image from the other famous site to try it out. This image is a 100% build image from OpenPLi source, it uses patched 20130607 drivers. drivers: 20130607 (bcm7405.ko date 20120711)

I'm currently using the OpenPli 2.1 image for clones from master125 and the differences/observations are:
01. Detected the Philips CU1216Mk3 tuner with no issue, that's a relief.
02. Able to restore the old E2 settings so the channels/config are restored without any problems
03. The base Linux OS is 3.2 as oppose to 2.6.8 (Dun know what is the advantage though). Enigma ver. is @ 26 Sep 2013
04. Installed mgcamd from the Menu->Plugins ->Green Download Plugin ->Softcam section and loaded the magician keys and Nazi SS-ce but still can't work
05. FTA no problem though
06. Installed TsPanel 7.3 and tried to installed the mgcamd 1.38/1.31 from there but to no avail
07. Updating the system software (about 35 updates of them) will brick the device
08. Skin is the standard PLi-HD
09. Has the autumn season bootlogo as oppose to the winter season bootlogo of 2.1, Also has the picture of an 800se as 1st bootup picture.
10. Installed Tsmedia 4.0 and has no issue. but needed to install the TsMedia with the OE2.0 though. The OE1.6 version cannot work (not sure what's the diff between OE1.6 & OE2.0
11. Installed Dflash 9.30 plugin to try and save my efforts in case I brick it halfway.
12. Other Std plugin that come with the image are: AutoBackup, HDMI CEC (but dun know how to work it), Media Player, Media Scanner, Software Management
13. Has all the European languages, and Thai and Middle East but not Chinese. So the ChineseEPG cannot work. Also the recording that i've done to HDD with Chinese EPG does not appear in the list of movies when I press the PVR button. It appears as a blank entry with onlt time and dat shown. you have to guess what the recording is all about
14. Detected the internal drive as the main and quick mounted it as media/hdd main drive without any issue. have an issue with the 2nd external USB drive as it cannot understand a NTFS partition. The old OpenPLi 2.1 can understand NTFS and will quick mount the 2nd ext usb drive
15. Has a Ext4 support as there was a HDD menu to update the existing ext3 to ext4 partitioning format.
16. Blue Button shows Graphical EPG, PPanels, Softcam
17. Choosing PPanels will yield nothing on the screen.(Not sure what are PPanels, is it a TSPanel equivalent)
Since i was unsuccessful, i went back to old 2.1 image.
Anyone got any ideas where I went wrong? or any advise?
