hi guys got my shiny new box delivered first thing i done was auto scan so picked up all the channels with black screen.tried evocam but nothing happened so connected to pc backuped flash so far easy.now trying to ftp was getting nowhere just timing out tried changing i.p the lot but still getting nowhere and now i think iv buggered tinternet i can still connect but no web pages come up aaagggghhh.AND still cant get ftp connecting i need a drink>

no buddy straight to pc with crossover cable.

You might need to change your ip to 'obtain ip adress automatically' after if your using the ethernet to connect to the internet.
To ftp to your box check the ip address set on it in the setup-expert setup-communication menu (something like that!) and keep the box ip and pc ip same except for last 3 digits could be changed
e.g if your box ip is 192.168.1.100
then change your pc ip to 192.168.1.101

e.g 2 if box ip is 192.168.0.1
then change your pc ip to 192.168.0.2

cheers ss i dont connect to internet via ethernet its wifi so im puzzled there.i have been changing pc i.p to be one above box but still saying time out.i have been reading posts but not found answer plus i now dont have internet access@home.:-(

Are you changing the tcp settings for the ethernet card on the laptop?

ye changing tcp settings on card but im thinking i got a bug coz when i input ipconfig it flashes up in dos for a split second then vanishes????

when you say blank screen, is that for every channel ?

sorted thanks team got the connection sorted.plus i was using original roms so now up and running now to have some fun with ftp cheers all!
