Right click the file and change chmod attributes to 755

You must install 2.13 cam

Then it will CLEARperfectly

FORGET about keys they get updated automatically
as long as you have auto update file in the var key dir


Make sure rom files are CHMOD 755
Then EVO scan

I may look stupid but i think there is a communication problem. how can I give a right click in my remote control? That is how I installed and activated my evocam. I used FIlizilla do upload the rom(keys and scce) to my dreambox. Could you be more specific about where do I have to change the settings? CAn I locate the com whit filezilla? and how?

You use the ftp client,not the remote.

Just double checking are rom files Keys and SCCE?
should the rename each of these folders CHMOD 755? and drag them into keys and SCCE folders from the dreambox?

Are you still abit confused about folders if so ... when you get the fix files from here you should have two folders SCCE and KEYS.. you can either put these 2 straight on the box via FTP and over write the prev folder or just move the contents from these to the already SCCE/KEYS on yer box

SCCE folder for roms(nagra stuff)
KEYS folder for the key filesi

To chmod... Right click a file thats on your dreambox as your viewing it in filezilla then a menu will come up go to file attributes the n change the 3 digit number to 755


EDIT -IF your still having probs and have a Null modem cable then visit this thread- http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...om-keys-35824/ and get Gazza2008s file and flash it using dreamup with the Null modem cable and say NO to flash erase... when its on your box do a bruteforce scan to get your own area chanls and set up your own bouquets then see if it clears any chanls(leave on Sly Sports for a minute)... if it doesnt then go on the server and get a few different versions of evocam and try them

Make sure you get the latest roms from here, RapidShare: Easy Filehosting,

Then connect to your 500c via ftp and delete all of the files in /var/scce, then install the files in the above rar into var/scce and set the files to 755 permissions. Not sure if every file in there should be 755 but it worked for me and can't see any harm in doing them all.

ok. but what about the keys? why should i only replace the scce?

Here's what I did - I followed this guide word for word - Digital Kaos - Downloads - Noobs guide to 500c

I then replaced all of the files in /var/scce with the ones from here RapidShare: Easy Filehosting, and set the permission on the each file within /var/scce to 755 (basically gave each file the execute permission) - you should be able to do this by right-clicking on each file and changing file permissions should be one of the options on your FTP software (can't be any more specific than that as you could be using any one of hundreds of FTP packages.) This is the guide I followed to replace the /var/scce files, so if you need more info on that I recommend you download this - http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...box-noobs-429/

After replacing the files in /var/scce mine started working perfectly. Hope this helps.

This box must be defect..... Send back to china is not the best option. The process of setting up a dm500 that I saw at "you tube" and that I read here seems to me very,very simple however box still not open channels apart from freeview. However I am confused becouse I read somewere that the DM500 settings are not simple for begginers. Still not sure what else could be....
