    VM shuffles channels again

Virgin have shuffled around channels on transponders again in my area. FIVEUSA moved amongst others.

A Fast Scan on the default frequency soon found them.

I wonder if this is going to become a regular occurrence or if they are just making room following the departure of Setanta.

Yeah quite a few shuffled this time... I only picked up five USA out of the 10 or so that shuffled.. but since my 1st and only scan today I have since got back about 4 of them by regularly checking the all channels list

So tell me this does the DK1.1 image scan and bring in new chanls in the background or must we scan every shuffle... my above comment seems to think it must scan in background

Every time you change channel, Enigma images (of which DK1.1 is one) will check the PSI metadata for that transponder and add any previously unfound channels on THAT transponder.

It depends if you tune to a channel on the transponder which contains the freshly shuffled channels.

Usually you need to do another "Fast Scan" so that it visits all the transponders described in the NIT metadata one by one and updates the services listing.

Noticed they had done the shuffle found most of then on 2 rescans but Cartoon Network too is still missing along with a news channel got the others back. Anyone else have issues finding these ones?

Cant be signal as I've got it boosted and singla on all channels is 94%

Find the "default transponder" which is usually the one with most VM channels/services on.

Then from there perform a manual scan using INV, ONIT, Network scan.

(I have no idea what INV or ONIT do but without them I miss several transponders)

Then visit any channels marked "*** SID 0x***" (e.g. 706 SID 0x1Fe) in the services list until they disappear and the list updates.

Tried that when I do I lose other services. First time I've had a problem in the past 2.5 years.

This is the first time they have really shuffled channels in the past 2.5 years!

That sounds like you're not searching from the default transponder frequency for your area. Look it up in the attached list.

(I've no idea how accurate / upto date this list is)

                  Good info alexh

Ive scanned again today and am still missing cartoon net 1+2 and Boomerang 1+2

I usually bounce of my other box upstairs as Ive a diff image on it and use one or the other for info and have to use the ticked INV trick to bring in some chanls

PS.. here in Belfast chanls have shuffled like every month over the past 5 months

Just started to happen here, perhaps 1 months ago. Prior to that, nothing for years (cept when channels were added or taken away).

Thanks for the list gave it a go no joy. I've had channels move in the past and a quick rescan and they appear back. Bizarre

Thats the way I was too... I just used to rescan and all the changed chanls would show up again in all services ready for me to replace the old ones in bouquets this time round though a scan only got me 1 chanl as I saying before

Although I following some info what alexh was saying about being on a remaining chanls transponder and it should scan the transponder by its self and add the new found freq to all services... and it does work

I went into my news bouquet and flicked through my news chanls(a few secs on each chanl) and then checked all services and found CNN that i was missing... same for Cartoon N and Boomerang just flicked through my "Kids" bouquet then check all services for the ones your missing

I dunno about DK1.1 but DW2.x Enigma has a bug when it comes to saving the services list. It only saves during a reboot, which means if you power your box off at any point after a scan you will loose your freshly found channels.

The only thing you can do is after a scan is to reboot manually using the menu and then your services list is saved.

No help in finding lost channels but a bit of help in keeping them when you've found them again.

So I'm sorted but have saved the manual option aswell for future use.

In my area they've been shuffling the channels every few days lately. It has meant that my carefully crafted Bouquets have ended up with various channels showing "Removed Service". To get them back, I've had to re-scan and manually edit the Bouquets again.
                              Is there an easier way?
