Noob alert, Help required with DM500C

Hello all,
just bought a cheap DM500C for the first time,but have no idea of the basics....flashing, scanning,bouquets connection to internet required etc etc?
Downloaded Stickys post but can't open the files?
Can anyone post a link or point me in the right direction.
Is the DM500 ok? Or am I wasting my time with it?

Donny to be honest you have been helped by this forum many times. The stickies are there for a reason, however as I stated in one of your previous requests for help regards cable in the UK I did mention that you should start off with a closed source box.

You didn't take my advice,( which is within your remit), but now you have an open source box with no access to a cable server, (which we will not allow discussion on), or the ability to create your own.

The forum has been full of thousands of posts relating to N3 in the UK and other parts of the world.
