DM500 PinCode Help !!

I have a 500plus

I accidentally set a lock on the setup menu and the pincode for some reason is not 0000

I have never setup a pincode but now its locking me out.

I seen the guide on how to convert it from hex to dec.
all i see is... setuplock=ffffffff

and not something like " 00005ea6 "

Edit the file with a value that you know, i.e. a pin of 1111 will be 457 in hex, so edit that line to read setuplock=00000457 then save and ftp back to box. Unplug the box, wait 10s and power up, try again.

Did not work

It just changed back to... i:/elitedvb/pins/setuplock=ffffffff

I only restarted enigma, could that be problem ?

How did you fix it then? It could help others with the same problem...otherwise this is a useless thread!

Try unplugging the box after editing the pincode.

I wrote in portuguese language... I am Brazilian. I have the solution.

Acesse a "dreambox" via ftp. Encontre o arquivo config na pasta "/var/tuxbox/config/enigma".. e onde est? "pin/setuplock=ffffffff", apague o ffffffff e escreva por exemplo "000004d2" e a senha ser? "1234". Quando voc? escrever, salve e n?o reinicie a "dreambox". Com a caixa ligada, desligue o plugue e espere 20 segundos. Ligue o plugue novamente, e sua senha ser? "1234"... ALL RIGHT!

I have the same problem. Have a DM528S. The setup password is locked. Cannot acces it. Please tell me how to find out setup password. I do not have tux commander. Can I install tux commander on my box without having setup password. HELP please
