Can our STB be use to view SG DVB-T2 Channels?

Are you ready for DVB-T2 broadcasts in Singapore? - Guide - TVs - CNET Asia

According to this, so will dm800hd or 800se be able to watch those FTA digital channels?

Still can get FTA HD via Cable why need to get T2 tuner, image for Terrestrial to 800se. No economy sense. A T2 HD recvr is only S$50/- , juz a T2 se tuner USD85/-, i siow liao, but for testing, learning cant put a price to it, my apology.

Hopefully those digital FTA would not be locked....
At least the BOX can be still used for receiving the digital signals.
Makes no sense to stick antenna out of window / in house for the DVB-T reception..

so to speak in more simpler terms, those who have dm800 or dm800se or other models, no need to buy a newer tv model with digital tuner as they can use their STBs to watch FTA digital channels.

Not sure if I am right but since we're connected to cable, no need to tune to T2 frequency. The box still get channels by existing provider.
If instead install external antenna then maybe require the frequency.

I'm just curious... Why so many ppl discussing about this dvb-t2.

Currently only those hbd flats with fishbone antenna wired to house & connected from point direct to tv are in such signal.

Those house that tv point are wired to cable instead of antenna & are using settop box should already be digital including fta channels. ****og box was osolete back in 2006/2007.

Anyway local production sucks, low cost & boring.
