    can i use o2 broadband to setup dreambox

    hi i have a dreambox 500c, bought it off a guy and it worked until the big switch a few months back, ive since moved to the country and want to get it working again for the lads i used to live with, the guy i bought off was on about using a router and ethernet cable i have this but have no router how can i go about sorting it out thanks for any help given

    to connect directly to your PC, you'll need a cross over patch lead. a normal ethernet will do if u were going thru the router.

    everything u need is in the stickies at the top - we'll get u working

      you say you moved to the country, make sure the 500c will work before you go loading stuff. most of the country areas are mmds. ie 500t. just check with the local lads.
      is it a bird?......is it a plane?.....NO ITS MY CHEAP CLONE FROM CHINA GOING OUT THE ~~~~ING WINDOW.

        ya cheers just spotted the new sticky at the top a minute ago, where can i get a good cable or are they all the same, because i set up a digivox t and bought a usb to serial converter in maplins and it was a nightmare to get working

            You can buy a crossover cable at Maplins. Look for "Grey UTP X-over" on Maplin's Cat5e Patch Cables.

            If you already have a straight through Ethernet patch cable, you can make a crossover using Maplin's adaptor at UTP Crossover Adaptor
