    updating my dreambox 500c

hey, i recently purchased the dreambox 500c, it currently has the DW 1.6 image. I can receive all channels, and i've been told by the seller that the keys automatically update. I'm having slight problems with stuttering with a few channels. What would be the best solution?

If I upgrade the image, will it delete the feature of automatically acquiring the keys? what would i need to backup etc?

If you're changing images, backup the following...

    /var/keys
    /var/tuxbox/config/enigma

Freezing channels is usually a signal problem, either too strong or too weak and it's usually the latter. What is the SNR value on the freezing channels? If it's less than about 94% then that's why it's freezing. A signal booster will sort you out.

MGcamd is also known to have freezing problems, try and always use Evocamd.

If you're changing images, make sure you backup the keys folder to transfer to the new image.

I'm looking for a cam for my new box. Sounds like Evocamd is the way to go. Will try once I can download from here. Or is there somewhere else I can get it from?

Evocam is certainly the way to go in my opinion.

firstly hi to all , as suggested freezing can be caused by signal to strong or too low.a yellow booster from fleabay is your best option as it has an up/down wheel on it.
