dreambox 500c

hi a friend just give me a dreambox 500c and its never been opened still in the box could someone pls help me do I just need to put the new pli jade image onto the box to get all channels or do I need to put magic files on to box ive looked every were for them and cant find them any help would be good thanks

All depends on where you live in the world.
If it's the UK then you wont get anything except free to air channels and then not as many as you get through an aerial on freeview.
