New 500c, no Transponders found?!

Yo, I bought a brand new 500c and flashed it with DKv1.1 which went flawlessly; before transferring the keys and auto update fix I ran a scan which picked up all channels, all was looking well and I was just getting the expected 'Service not found'.

So I whacked in my cat5e and ftp'd over the keys and au fix.. rebooted the box but im still getting 'Service not found' so I though it would be a good idea to rescan after updating keys; however as soon as I try to scan I get 'No transponders found' and it fails... Help!!

Might be a silly question but is the vm feed correctly crewed to the back of the box? and all connections to spltters tight.

Try a scan without splitters if you have any.

Isnt it included in Dk1.1?... cant remember.

Cables xml will deffo be in image,its a signal issue.

You are probably right, I got rid of my dm500 long before dk released an image so really not to familiar with the image. I have a dm600 and use the pli image where you have to copy all of the files across to your box.

Connection at back was fine but when you mention splitter there I remember I installed one in the attic a while back, so I connected it directly without the splitter and presto!

The default cables.xml that came with my image doesn't detect any transponders in my region.

Have a look at the file in this post:

Use the attached file to work out what your region's base transponder frequency & symbol rate.

Then do a Manual Transponder Scan (Menu->Setup->Service Searching->Manual Transponder Scan).

Enter the frequency and symbol rate you just looked up and tick the "network scan" option.

Before you start the scan, check the LOCK & SYNC tick boxes. They should have a green tick in them if there is a transponder on that frequency and symbol rate. If there are no ticks try setting the INV tickbox setting. If you never get sync & lock chances are either the list is out of date or you are not in the area you thought you were.

Once you have sync & lock press green to perform the scan.

Note: This is a guide for an Enigma based image such as DW2.1 or DK1.1 if you have Neutrino then the exact procedure will be different but the underlying idea is the same.
