    Remove Channels

    Hello People,

I would like to remove all Adult channels from my Dreambox. As much as i would "LOVE" to keep them on, I have been asked politley by my other half to have these removed.

I have deleted them manually through the menu option, but some seem to reappear when I start the box up.

    Any ideas please???

Unfortunatly m8 i dont think you can

On the red button menu it has everything including the data channels because its All Services and it comes from the settings within the box on the channel list.

The only way round it is to create a bouquet with all the channels you want then once your in that bouquet you wont see the other stuff.

If you dont create a bouquet then all you will see is everything.

When you are on the channel list click menu and click create new bouquet
then just use add to specific bouquet to add them.

    But im no expert

You can lock the channels individually so they are pin protected, if its the kiddie-winks your hiding them from...

Select Setup menu then Parental Lock
Select Parental Lock button and change pin to what you want and re-enter
      Select Save
      Exit menus
Press OK then RED (All Services)
Scroll to channel you want to lock
      Press MENU
      Select Lock
Now even if the box is rebooted that channel will always be locked.

If the box is rebooted on a locked channel, it will ask for the unlock code on bootup.

        There's a better way - a myservices file.

you can specify what you want to do with your own services in here, either add something or PERMANENTLY remove something. This is how i manage all the rubbish i don't want, i add it in there as a 'remove' option. hiding the bouquet doesn't work for me because if you channel scroll down from number 1, the channels are still there.

once they're added to there, you can scan/update as much as you want when channels get moved/changed/etc and they don't come back.

Either use something like Bouquet Wizard 3.0.0 to help you create a myservices file (just load in your services.xml - straight from the box or edit it first then upload to the box) OR you can manually create one, all the info you need is in here : Digital Kaos - Downloads - PT-1s Dbox2 Helpfile

I have found that on a clone box even if you add parental lock to a channel when it is powered off then back on it loses the parental lock.

                Sorry. yes, good point.

myservices.xml is only supported in Neutrino based images.

Make sure you save the settings and do a reboot via the menu (and not by pulling power plug) then it should be ok

Try disabling the 'background scanning' in the 'automatic satellite and transponders scan' and then deleting the channels you do not want from the 'All services' list.
