Try this.. read from some where

******REMOVED LINK TO FORUM OF SIMILAR CONTENT - READ OUR RULES AGAIN - LINKS GIVEN ALREADY PROVDE THE INFORMATION REQUIRED******

Dreambox 800hd not responding to dreamup see below:

          Requirements: Null modem cable
Procedure (With XP and hardware serial port)
          1)Ensure dreambox is unplugged

          2) Connect dbox to com port with NULL MODEM CABLE, do not try using a gender changer on a standard usb/serial cable. (Should be com1)

          3) Fire up Hyperterminal create profile using profile

          connection 115200 8 none 1 none
4 Click ok to activate should see a flashing cursor in hyperterminal

5 Power up Dreambox, wait few seconds and hit the 'f' key.

You should see the 'Err01 no Ca found' dissapear, a few lines of garbage appear in hyperterminal window and dreambox loading onto 'STOP' looking for DHCP assigned IP.

IP should be displayed shortly after where you can follow many other procs on here to access http://<displayed ip> and proceed with loading the correct SSL image.
          I grabbed this one

          Digital Kaos - Downloads - SSL84b for DM800 sim 2

Then flashed a new SSL84b image which was this

          SIM2-SSL84b-TSimage-1.0.0-DM800HD-OE 1.6

All working fine now! Ive not seen a single method online using what i did above.

Note if you dont have XP and hyperminal. For Windows 7 you download putty under 'session - connection type - select serial and then you can select your com port there. I have not tested this with usb/serial lead. I read many things about driver issues with the maplin lead and was having so many issues with dreamup no responding i binned it using a direct com port.

hi there i have had that problem quite a few times, there is a simple solution. What you need is a serial cable (female) to female and a usb serial cable adapter (male). install drivers with usb cable. look for the ncf repair tool run as administrator select com port 1 do job and your done
