I have a DM 500-S which has the same problem: The green light is permanently on when the unit is plugged in, using the standby button or the remote control has no effect, the light stays on. I've checked the ribbon cable connections and also used a known good working psu.

Using Dreamup, with a null modem cable, it appears to identify the ip of the unit and displays: "Connection prepared, now switch on the dreambox!".

At this point I've connected the power, but nothing happens. I've also tried it with the power connected before clicking on the Connect button, with the same result, so I can't flash.

      Any ideas?

      Thanks...

Thanks for the suggestion, but there's still no change. I've tried 1.3.3.9, 1.3.3.4 and 1.3.2.1.

It should be a null modem cable and not rs232.
