DM500 DM 500C URGENT HELP REQUIRED!!!

Hey Chaps, Babylon here, i urgently need your help. I have a Dreambox DM500 C and i can't seem to get my free channels with the new fix. I used a null modem cable and DreamUp to flash the new image to my box but i was unsuccessful. The image flashed over to the box alright but it didnt work when i plugged in the cable. Is there a way i can totally wipe the images from my box and start all over again (like wiping the hard drive on a PC and installing XP from scratch) I would appreciate any help with this as im at the end of my patience with it and am close to giving my DM 500C a donkey kick out the window. Please help me Guys

Thank You Stig, iam about to do it now, but do i need to flash v1 to the box and then flash v1.1 aswell, like an update or something??

nope if your using dreamup just do flash erase

hi babylon sorry for busting in on your thread but im having trouble to

i have a box but never did anything with it bought it off a guy and it worked but it stopped a while back when they changed whatever it is they changed

im trying to get it going but was flicking through the settings and saw factory reset and did it thinking it would get it going again

what do i have to do to get it going again any help is much apreciated thanks

If you have done factory reset you have erased the auto update keys so you will now get a blank screen on the scrambled channels free to air are ok. you now needs to ftp the box and load the keys in the var folder in a sub folder your will see a key folder and rom 7 into to scce folder.

sorry I just assumed.- o.k at the top of this page you will see Downloads click on that and find the dreambox section and download the guides read study them you have all the knowledge you need. All the software you need to get a dreambox running.

ya ive been flicking around for a while now but winrar wont open the backup image i downloaded but it opened the dream up file no problem it says corrupt file

try and re-download it m8, might have corrupted when you downloaded it

got that part sorted now

the null modem cable, i havent got one yet

but if its the same connection as an rs232 cable will i not need an adapter for it connect into the laptop i have an rs 232 cable from a digivox t and a usb to serial adapter will this do the same thing
