The dm600 uses an IDE drive so you cannot install the SATA drive.

I would expect the adpater to be fine but you would have a problem with the power for the adapter.

That looked ok but the IDE connectors on a 2.5" hard drive is different to the one on a 3.5" hard drive. Maybe the SATA
connecters are different too??

2.5" PATA drives are still available and (for the time being) are roughly the same price as SATA for a 320gb (~?40-50).

But they are slowly being phased out so prices will soon go up.
