I have most channels but can't seem to get all the Sky Movies - Sky family, indie etc. Anyone know what movies you can get from VM in Nottingham?

Glad you got up and running

sometimes you dont get them all i never get sly 1 for eg.

soommetimes they appear on another automatic scan ive just installed a new image and i i run the scan every cple of days for a week just to make sure ive found everything.

assuming that dosent work then its down to signal maybe try a booster on your line

    or

make sure your tv cable is the first in the line if you have a splitter before you scan

you should get them all if you do a bruteforce scan for uk and not the nottingham regional one, also remove splitters on the line before hand.

Thanks. I have manually deleted all the ~~~~ channels so my kids don't see them (apart from the quality being appauling - I mean, these people need to go back to film school).

If I do a brute force, how do I prevent picking up ~~~~ again? Is there an easier way of deleting them or locking them out for my kids (and the wife!)

you will pick them up if you do scan but if you want to keep them for a rainy day put them in a adult folder whilst doing bouquets then lock them or delete them again

Scanning now - no removed splitters yet - will have to get into the garage for that. btw if I removed the splitters, found all the channels then reconnected the splitters, would the channels still be there?

No need to get into garage! Have found all the channels after a bruteforce scan. Excellent!

Bit off topic but what is the quality of the broadcasts like when using Dreambox? I am on a simple tv at the moment because my son (off ill) would go bananas if I tried to hook the box up the the main tv whilst he is watching his show. How does the picture quality compare to Sky Plus?

                            scart m8

its not a hd box at the end of the day

scart is a better connection than composite

Composite is a sub-set of SCART, using only one of the possible SCART connections (CVBS - Composite Video Blanking Sync). The signal level and impedances are identical, so Composite to Composite, Composite to SCART, and SCART to SCART (if using CVBS) are all identical.

However! - SCART also has the capability of RGB, which is the highest quality SD connection you can get, and vastly better than Composite) and much better than any broadcast or DVD SD as well.
