    DM500 Mounting a PC drive - losing the plot

    Can someone please help me, I am not exactly a noob, and know my way fairly well around a dreambox.
    I have successfully managed to mount my laptop drive and can record happily to it, but this was just to test the theory. When I try to mount my PC harddrive to my dreambox 500C which is the machine I wish to use, I get no joy whatsoever. I have tried everything, even using the same IP address as my laptop and all other settings but it will not work. I am using dw 2.1 image, both my laptop & PC are XP and my mount settings are as follows -
    I.P address - 192. 168.1.105 - CIFS
    dir - Recordings
    localdir - /hdd/movie
    rw,soft,udp,nolock
    extra - nolock,rsize,=82,wsize=8192
    user - (pc account-administrator rights)
    pass (no password)
    automount v

    I set both machines up using Devilfish's guide, including share options etc.
    Getting really desperate now as everything I try draws a blank. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated

    I found it was easier to map the drive using the web interface. Try this thread;
