    dm500c progressive output?

i've just bought a scart -> component cable adapter for the dreambox and enabled the 'yrbp' (whatever it's called) output option in the menu and the signal has slightly improved but i noticed it's still outputting at 576i

is there anyway of outputting a progressive signal (480p or 576p)?

    Nope.

Why would you want to? Your flat panel TV has a built in de-interlacer.

All Standard Definition channels on cable are transmitted interlaced. AFAIK having the box output progressive only improves quality if the source material is progressive and also transmitted as progressive.

Most of the UK shows are recorded interlaced.

signal loss, quality bottle cap - whatever you want to call it

i just assumed progressive output would squeeze out every last drop of image quality there was
