DM500C possible hardware problem - where to fix?

I have a DM500C that I suspect has a hardware issue, gets stuck at "waiting for acknowledge" when trying to flash with DreamUP 1.3.3.1 (I tried 4 other DreamUP versions with the same result). I'm using an ATEN null to USB cable and standard 12V power cable to flash. My cables are confirmed working because I just re-flashed my other 2 boxes and no problems at all.

Can any of the more experienced guys here direct me to a reliable and reasonably priced shop in SG I can get the box looked at and fixed? Please do list the prices quoted to you if you have done a box repair before.

    Many thanks in advance.

Try connecting the null modem on a PC and try it out from there. I do experience having to use the ATEN null to USB and it is quite erratic. Sometime it works and some other times it won't, I practically gave up using that cable and assigned my old PC to perform it ever since. Cheers

Yes, most of the time I connect via PC , it works
Try find a PC with that coms port.

Sometimes the ribbon cable of the serial port of the DM500 had been damaged.
        Try inspect the ribbon.

Flashing with only serial COM port, avoid using USB-to-serial convertor.
