    DM600 choosing the right hard drive

    is this the right hard drive for my Dreambox 600c

    New Western Digital 250GB 2.5" IDE 5400rpm 8MB on eBay (end time 01-Aug-09 11:58:33 BST)

    I have read a post that the hard drive continues to spin on standby mode - do i need to buy a specific hard drive that does not spin on standby mode????

          look similar to the WD HDD i have in mine, mine is WD 240Gb whisper drive, as for the disk 'spinning on' in standby, it does until you alter some settings inyour DM and them it spins down after a couple of minutes.. and will only spin up when you access it to view recordings...

          I will have to read back a bit but I just altered a setting relating to where the epg was stored/saved or something (I use a PLi Iolite image).. if you get this problem just post in this section and the guys will point you to the right info to make your box all quiet again..
