hi Ive had a dreambox 500c for some time now in box never used. was just wondering is it still possible to use it.
im new to using dreambox so if someone could help me out or point me in the right direction so I can read up bout
the box. all help appreciated guys

U can just plug and play.. if its showing just e free to air channels then u need to ask for help again.

hi guys ive plugged my dreambox in. power cable does it have to be connected to cable feed and Ethernet. im not get any channels
not even fta channels can some1 help me out here plzzz cheers guys

you will get free to air channels with just the cable connection and scart out to tv
But you will need to scan first ...........Paul

hi im still not getting any fta channels ive been doing some reading up. and I think I might have to flash an image to my box.
im I on the right track so far. advice welcome if this is correct which image shall I flash to box.. openpli 16012014 / or digital kaos v1.1 image

Your box already has an image mate, so that will only put you in same state as your at now, not sure as Dont do cable but maybe the tuner needs to be configured before scanning?

load the cables.xml file and do a brute force scan, without this file it will not know what freqs to scan

just do an automatic scan

pli image .

put in your tmp folder and do manual update , u might need to rename to root.cramfs

hi Smirnoff so am I correct that I must flash the box with the image you've posted. sorry for all the questions just a bit lost
at the minute. but im trying what is my tmp folder.

use your ftp program to add to the tmp folder in the box and then the manual update in settings , if u have a pli image anyway u have to change to the name of this backup to root.cramfs

ty Smirnoff so is this correct click on quick connect enter my ip and root and password cramfs then automatic scan is this correct Smirnoff. coz im confused

box ip , root (pass) dreambox , then drap image into tmp folder , right click and rename to root.cramfs , then in the box menu goto update and click manual update and it will find file then press the ok button and it will flash , then after thats finished run automatic scann on the box
