multiboot using hdd on dm600-pvr?

There is a version Barr Allen 4.6.1 but I couldn't get that to load on my box today.
ftp the plugin to the tmp directory on your dm600.
Telnet to your box and than go to tmp directory.
type in
ipkg update
ipkg install *.ipk

This will hopefully install the plugin to your box. After this you need to ftp an *.nfi image file to your hdd.

There appears to be 2 variants of the Barry Allen Plugin mipsel or powerpc and both state for use with the 600! This confuses me a little.

It is my understanding that the powerpc version would be for the 600 with an enigma 1 image in flash but I'm not 100% sure.

This would then make me think that the mipsel version could be if an enigma 2 image was in flash, given the other boxes stated.

These are assumptions and would welcome some clarification.

I've only seen a mipsel version of 4.6.1 and didn't think it would work as I have an enigma 1 image in flash.

I loaded the powerpc version on my dm600 and that worked fine.

So nothing to do with enigma 1 & 2!

I tried the mips version but it failed with some sort of flag error so I just loaded the ppc version.

I'd say that confirms the 600 is def ppc, was that the 4.6.1 ppc version as you stated you had a prob with this in a previous post.

Hi thats correct only ppc will work on 600 enigma1 image in flash will do i have tried this pcd done a guide barry allen in 5 minutes i think someone has posted it here

Can confirm that barry allen enigma 2 works on dm 600, as i did this months ago, running gemini, edge nem, pli and cli the benifit is that if you change to sat tuner you can use a diff image, also when new image comes out you can take time to set up.

The main problem is that you have to boot from hard drive images only, or the hd will stop and of course you have a running drive always.

You can purchase a flash drive with ide conversion then no hd noise. But these are limited to size.

It is not as hard to install BA as looks but loading the images is a little more difficult.

Personaly i like it.

version to use is 4.5 5 powerpc.ipk

I have DM600C with an internal hard drive and I have the Pli image loaded in the flash. If I was being honest I would say the multiboot is a waste time for me because I have a play with the other images but I always come back to the Pli image as it has the 14 day EPG and the 'now and next ' on the infobar. On my Dm500 satellite box the mutliboot could be really handy as the images on the satellite side have a lot of plugins which are useful for different providers.

curiours, how do you get 14 day epg on pli?? i cant even get half day epg

Can anyone help me please.
Got a 600C and can flash anything onto it no problem but of course can only see the FTA chans. Can any one give a newbie like me some tips or pointers to unlock decrypt all chans?
Is it like a 500 where there's a additional soft to put on then Info button shortcuts?
I'm lost with this - cheers all!
