anyone got the sunray s4 working with cable?

as the title says, i have a sunray s4 (has a tripple tuner) which i was using as a sat receiver only. since all the hd channels are gone................i'm trying to see if i can pick up the cable channels on the box.

have tried a few different things but not had any joy as yet.

anyone managed to get it working on cable?

i've just flashed the latest dreamelite so it shows the 3 tuners now

assuming you have a cables.xml file in etc/tuxbox then you should just be able to do a brute force scan

i tried a few different ways but my understanding after all that is that you need to have the channel frequency and stuff in the sat.xml file....but i think my xml just didn't have the right settings.

i'll give delboys image a go and see if that sorts it out......would be so nice if it did

Not in a sat.xml file the Cable frequency have to go in a Cables.xml file only

Using the latest OpenPLi image you need to modify the satellites.xml and not the cables.xml. The tuner is seen as a single Satellite tuner not 3 separate tuners. I did a google search and found all the answers. Basically you put a 1 in front of the frequency, so 643Mhz becomes 01643, for the SR, 6887 becomes 06887, set inversion to OFF. You can scan 64QAM with the tuner set as DVB-S but for 256QAM, you need DVB-S2 with some other settings changed that I don't remember off the top of my head. You also have to configure LNB settings for cable, use an unused Satellite position and set the LOF to 00000

I can tell you that it works fine although with having to modify the frequency, Autobouquets for cable will not work.

Use a Google search to find the details, they are on another forum, so can't post the link on here.
