My Service scan option missing ????????????

Hi peeps a wee question ,,I am using the latest pli image for my dm600 and 500 the thing is I have put in all the cables and services and that ,boxes working fine and have been for long time the thing is when I go to do a service scan to pick up lost channels or renamed channels now I dont have the option to do my scan for my area as the provider 6887 is not there I have tried to put the cables and services back in again but still not coming is the something im missing,,like chmoding the files or what ,,which folder is the right folder on the pli images
thanks for any replys in advance this never happens on any other image,s i use the only thing I thought it could be was I updated the image via blue button,, could this be something to do with it anyway I will shut up now and let you reply

download the latest cables.xml from the downloads and ftp it var/etc...change permissions to 755 and reboot the box. You should now have the localised scanning available. Or you could edit this file before ftp'ing so it only contains your area, to save space on the box.

I.m having the same kind of problem. I had the new ESPN channels the other day but now they have disappeared, only getting ESPN America. When i go to do a automatic scan it does not show any areas, just says all. I FTP'ed the cables.xml file on to the 500c, but still no change. Has anyone got any ideas. Thanks
