    New DM800 PVR

    Hi,

Apologies if this has already been asked somewhere. I have just got a new dm800 after using one for over 4yrs. I have been able to FTP all relevant files from the previous box to the new one but unable to get any channel working (all greyed out). The new box does not allow me to set up my location onlike the previous one and uses bands and frequencies. Is there any guide that could help me with this please? I have ftped a Satelite.xml file and previous channel list (which doesn't work) and I can't search for new files as it doesn't work.
I have flashed various images today and curently on New Enigma 2.

Any assistance will be very much appreciated as I have already spent all day trying to sort this out.

    Thanks

Either use Auto Bouquet plugin or a bouquet like Catseyes they either in downloads or Dreambox section.

Are you using this for sat or cable mate?

It is for Sat. The box is connected to a dish.

I downloaded a bouquet and used dreamedit to upload it but wheras I can now select the channels, I keep getting a tune failed message. Any help please?

Have you configured the tuner, enabled it?

You're in wrong section you need to be in dreambox sat section.

As Andy says. .. you need to setup your tuner. That will fix it. If it's just one satellite, use simple setup and if it's a motorised system use the advanced option

Thanks for your responses. I have done a lot of reading around and think I may be doing the wrong thing. My Tuner is a DVB-C one and from what I read I think that is a cable one rather than a Sat. Not sure if my subscription will work with this as my old box was a DVB-S and is still taking the subscription. I suppose I have to read around and get a better understanding of how the new one works and what I have to do. Dish is mortorised and I could comfortably do everything that needed doing with the old box.

              Thanks

From my understanding, a cable tuner will not be able to use a sat dish. A cheaper work around is to just but the SAT TUNER for sat and replace the tuner in your box. OR, you can donate the box to me and buy a new one meant for SAT.. cheers...

There is another work around is that you can get a SAT tuner card and change it which is available online if you want to retain the box. Hope that helps.
