Switching from Sky openbox to cable Dreambox

Hi, I am considering switching from a sky F5s box to a cable box & would really appreciate some advice on what to look at & where to go etc. Still new to all this but started with a skybox f3 then got F5 but have dad nothing but trouble - after downloading latest lists etc still have only a handful of worthwhile channels. Signal strength is very low etc. Was reading that the end is near for skybox's with channels being constantly moved etc & cable was the way forward. Please could anyone advise if they think this is right & as above what equipment etc would I need, (we have had cable via Virgin previously in our home). Thanks

Get a dm800 clone as you could fit a cable tuner about ?20/?30 then you could always go back to sat if you didn't like it, miles better box than those skyboxes and lots of support

The dm800C already has a cable tuner fitted as standard. Works fine.

Signal strength is very low etc? could mean dish is not aligned up,which is a common thing with storms/high winds.if more research was done you would see how many problems you get with these boxes and clones.miraclebox is a newish e2 receiver that can run cable and sat and on vix image.
most people want boxes to see tv not mess around with channel lists.
