    Flashed wrong image using DCC

    Hi all

So i got an image from here which said it was for Dm500c. OPEN PLI image. Didnt realise that it was for blackbox 500 and not dm500c.

Anyway i connected via DCC and flashed the image, but now get a black screen with nothing loading. I am also unable to connect via DCC.

    What can i do here?

    all help appreciated please.

also any working image with which i can download addons please

The Blackbox 500 is just another clone of the DM500

You might have to flash a different image via RS232

so went out and bought a new PCI card to add serial ports to my pc. Bought a null modem cable (definatley). but i cant connect to dreamup. Tried with various versions of Dreamup. Had this issue before aswell which is why i decided to flash with ethernet port.

Doesanyone know if i need any specific drivers for my serial port? installed them with the provided drivers. dreamup always gets stuck at 'connect dreambox' stage?

              Hi,
Make sure you have your serial port/usb connected the box/pc but the box has to be powered down (unplug the power lead). Then start up Dream Up and it should recognise you have it connected. Then the Dream Up program tells you to power up the Dreambox (plug the power lead back in). Then choose your image to flash.

I have never had a problem with Flashing DM500s or for that matter the Open/skybox range on Win7, Although my motherboard is equipped with the pin header for a true RS232 serial interface which cost me ?4.29.

I do hear problems with dreamup working with the USB adaptors and some PCI cards.

I use this version of dreamup if it helps

ok finally now have had it working. Used a different PC with built-in Serial port on the motherboard and voila. worked a treat.

can anyone recommend an image which has addons (cccam) available to download without any fuss?

thanks for all the pointers in this thread.
