    Null modem cable

Hey there got hold of my DM500c today

I also have a FTA 101 cable receiver, i purchased a cable for this box few years back assuming its a Null modem cable and works fine

Im now trying to use it on my DM500c but dream up just stays on saying "Connection prepared, now switch on your dreambox" from which i insert power cord along with this cable already inserted, green light appears in LED display and nothing happens?

Is this cable incorrect for use with this box and how can i tell

    Cheers in advance kieran

If it is a null modem cable then it should work.

Try downloading different versions of dreamup.

From memory the FTA 101 used a standard straight wired RS232 serial cable. So its not a null modem cable.

You need the null modem cable as it has a cross over config.
