DM600 Dm 600 not seeing hdd

I just put an 80gig Scoprio western digital drive into my 600 and when i go to hard drive setup it says "no drive detected".I did a factory reset and booted up again thinking that it would see it then but nothing.I'm running a Cli image on it.
I wnnt to var/hdd and tried to run a script in there to see it but its still invisible to the box....any ideas.

    Hi Freck,

I think you need to mount the disk (excuse the expression), i did see some notes on the stickies some time back on how to mount a hardrive.

          menu/setup/hardware settings/harddisk/specific settings

can you see your hard drive in there ?

          if so press on format.

if not put the hard drive into a pc and download paragon partition manager and format the drive to ext2, try that mate

On some drives, mainly the 3.5 IDE though. {Have only seen a couple of the 2.5 with jumpers}.

But a jumper (see image above) tells the contoller wether the drive is a Master/Slave/Cable Select depending on the configuration.

                      Hi Folks.

Could be power requirements zapping the HDD detection. Failing that, delete any existing partitions on another computer then install drive in DB and try formatting then.

@freck some of the DM500's have a psu of 12v 2amp and my 600's have
12v 3amp ......this could be the problem as my 600 wont run on the former with HDD installed
