    DM500 Need to solder a serial port to my DM500

    Hi everyone cant seem to connect my dm 500 to my network to flash my box with telnet can not get an ip number after installing commando 15!

    Dont know why normally flash my dm800 with serial cable but someone has taken the serial connection from box it looks like it should go to a eight pin slot inside can someone help with pin connection so i can flash it using my normal serial cable i do have one from a openbox i can solder in!

    If you set it to DHCP and reboot both box and router it will give you ,I.P..........Paul

      Yes I set box to dhcp to on and set network on also then save settings then reboot and it always switches to off when reboot Box the network on when boot box bit?

      I'll try rebooting all my router's maybe there's an ip conflict somewhere?

        No cant get ip address?

        So serial flash ill have to do!

        But no serial port connected! shhhh!

          cant you select DHCP
          restart network then FTP into the box
          You could log into the router if you see the box in there assign it an I.P

            Not showing in router it just wont save any setting after reboot tried manually assigning ip but on reboot all settings go back to default?
            I reckon there was a error on telnet when i loaded image must be corrupted on trying to scan channels only kabel deutschland shows should there be others??

                      So if you turn off dhcp and reboot
                      It comes back on with DHCP enabled ???

                        yes excactly that tried to manually assign ip also but it always reboot the same back to first boot i have clicked on save settings every time!
