    HDC-601 Vs Q5

    Hi guys,

am currently using Q5, so far so good with it. But sometimes there will be lag, and sometime you won't be able to view a certain channel for a few minutes or a few hours. And unit gets super hot when turned on. Am thinking of getting another set when I saw that there is a new unit in town HDC 601, an upgrade from HDC-600. It seems that many people are buying it more than Q5. But it seems that some have complained about the lag time during channel surfing. Has anyone gotten a set of HDC-601 or HDC-600?

    actually same
The only diff is one need to pay and one is free
The lag is probably due to peak periods where many people are watching at the same time

      kena kelong bo....
i suggest dont post any advice until at least 6mths lapse.
since MVHD only abt 3mths +
      then, FYHD another 2mths + then HDC600 another 2mths+ now HDC601 may b another 2mths +... and Q5 only operates 1mth +...
But it yr money lah, who cares....
ie, since Oct11th 2013 til now, many change 4type of boxes liao.
Please take advice that Dreambox 800 and 800se is still the best option.

Should consider using openvpn with dm800.

            Yup free for now
But maybe after 1 year later, they might start charging. You never know

Hope your 601 will works... for longer period..

Me and a friend gotten the MUX previously, only worked for 2-3months and that's it hor... it wasn't even doomday. Despite those sellers guaranteed that can watch "at least one year"...
make a lot of complains through ah tiong sellers' wechat/watsapp/website and the staff's FB... Still no solution provided, only use delay technics, say server problem and will be fix by "a week" - that week ever come hor.. And the site subsequently come out 600 / 601 / 601+, but never bother about those earlier models liao.

It's all about $$$... buy and buy..

Try 3rd-party IPTV for a change. Matured industry, been around for over 3-4 years.
Yes, You need a internet connection, at least obtain a stable 2 Mbit/sec, not difficult for many local household with a broadband subscription wifi routers.

Live broadcast itself already over 200+ channels, plus few times more of past movies, dramas, variety shows.
Best of all, you can test out before u buy the subscription, up to 30 days of trial.

I am waiting to laugh at those who bought HDC6xx, in few months time, when they begin to fail to work, and no recourse.
And I am pretty sure someone are monitoring those servers, and their users. (Remember the ODEX incidents?)
Who knows, they may pay you a house visit with a warrant. (Had you clean up your HDD of any objectable video contents?!)

Its more wiser to adopt the VPN router solution, u never would know if your VPN client is properly login.
If not login, your native IP address is revealled, and that defeat the purpose of staying anonymous.

box can trace to address (which is not possible), everyone are shitting in the pants.

NOW your address are really (traceable) open to all in the cyberworld.........
                    using internet connection.

I agree with bro ultrakiasu, but i wont laugh at those who bought it. these boxes are not guaranteed in the long run but it does temporarily fix the n3 problem. Those who bought these boxes of course hope it can last. The is no shame about it. Everything comes with risk. So just be prepared. Of course dm boxes are still the best. But does anyone want to share? Will you bro ultrakiasu?

If you setup openvpn correctly, it shld stay.
If not juz use openatv which come with openvpn plugin.

But DM users face Ch230 no sound problem and seem like this SG users are not interested to solve this problem.

                        Cheers

nothing is perfect with internet protocol service. as long as internet access, it could only b 90% none freeze, even with Mio, during peak hr or some1 at hm press a download file, Mio box suffers freeze too.
