Hi,
I have recently discovered the Dreambox and have spent the last few days trying to uncover info on what it does and today stumbled upon this great site! hooray for that

Now the reason I wanted a Dreambox was I had believed it was a cheaper way of getting my VM cable into my media center without going the naff RF route. I have since discovered DVBLink for Dreambox which supports using the Gemini image (I don't really understand the different types of images yet).

Now my question is: Am I able to use a Dreambox to simply get the channels I subscribe to with VM rather than everything, and if so am I able to use the Gemini image to do so!?

the dreambox will just give you freeview channels or else every thing virgin broadcast depending on if you install the roms or not
and yes can use the gemini image
just remember you have a lot of reading to do but most of what you need is in the stickies
ps the dk 1.1 is gemini based

Edit: ah Dk 1.1 is the Digital Kaos image!


I've read that the Gemini image can kill clones, as it's very likely mine will be a clone is it safer to use DK1.1?

i think gemini 4.20 onwards are dangerous
dk 1.1 is safe to use as are the dw images
