laptop to dreambox

please can you tell me how to connect to my dreambox using a laptop and a ethernet cable

connect your dreambox your rooter with a ethernet cable then in setting goto netwpork setting untick dchp and put your own ip addres (make sure it in range of your rooter)
save then type that ip address in your web browser (with your laptop connected on the same network)and this will open your dreambox.if you want to connect remotely you need to open a no-ip address port forward port 8080 then type in your no-ip address in your web browser and it will connect to your dreambox but make sure you change your password on your dreambox

if you're connecting the laptop to the dm directly - you'll need a cross over ethernet patch lead.

if you connect the dm to a router (and laptop to router too) - a standard ethernet cable will work
