    DM800c Bad Sector

    Hi Bros,
    Encounter error msg " too much data ( or bad sector ) in partition 3 ( end , 040000, pos:04000 ) " on my dm800c.
Is the DDR ram gone case ? Or anyway to recover the bad sector ? Need help.
    TIA

are you using the nemisis image by any chance.
as this error is common on a few nemisis images never known anyone to correct it i have read.
they always end up using another image.
i personaly have not expearianced this just read about it.

heres the fix if you can understand it may or may not work.
as i said i have never actualy done this myself.

1--- Connect USB cable to service slot on DM800 and USB slot on Pc. Windows will then install the driver

You will notice, windows created a virtual Com Port connection to be be used ( in this case Com Port 4)

2 --- Switch Receiver off and connect Network cable from router to 800se and leave the usb service cable connected.

3 --- Then Start SunRay- FlashUp, Tick Use Network, Fill the relevant boxes with local pc IP and Romote ip of your choose and click Connect.

Program will ask for you to Switch on the receiver.

4 -- It will then go into HTTP mode now select repair bad sectors from the extra tab on flashup.

5 -- At this stage, you open your browser and insert the romote IP shown on the 800LCD

6 --- Click Browse and navigate to your image

7 --- Chose the image and click Open

8 --- Now click Flash button

9 --- Image will start to

10 -- After finishing click Reboot. In Most case you will need to do so manually

      I am using OpenPli image.
However, still encounter the same error after select repair bad sectors from the extra Tab.
I think the DDR ram gone case already.
Now, don't know which ram is faulty as there are 2 DDR rams on the board.

have you the correct bootloader for that image and correct image for your sim.
this needs a more expearianced member like digicon rubber duck ect if this only happened after flashing the image and the box was fine before i would suspect one of the above.

Encounter the bad sector problem when trying to reflash back the OpenPli image due to booting issue.
Give up after trying too many times.
            Thanks for all the help.

U can make a bootable usb to boot it from the usb instead of flash if yr box cannot be reflash or boot up.

Hi bro, how to create a Boottable UsB ? Window base or Linus base ?
Anyway, any Open pli image with less than 40Mbyte space to share ?

Before you do that i would advise you try to flash bootloader then diferent image as i believe its the image you have flashed causing the problem ddr ram is rigorously tested before it is released and the only way i know of it becoming damaged is via power surge which i find very unlikely with your box.

Flashing of Bootloader SSl82 was successful. But encounter the same error msg when trying to reflash back the OpenPli image.
Actually want to try HotAir Gun on DDR ram but I don't have it.

pls dont try changing the buffer ram, it not that ddr faulty.
if ddr is faulty, u cant even boot.
try change yr simcard and reload new BL.
My perso**** opinion is some sector is locked or inaccessable by BL.
Simcard and new BL shud solve the problem.
